The holiday season is finally here and operations at Christmas in the City are in FULL swing! Our team – made up of 100% volunteers – is all hands on deck to work to give back to our community members in need this season. Here’s a little look at what we are planning and how we can use your help:
The Big Annual Party & Jake’s Toy Mania – These are our two flagship programs that we operate as a way to give back to those in need in our community. Jake’s Toy Mania is a toy distribution program to help provide gifts for those that may otherwise go without. Separately, our annual Winter Wonderland party is an event all its own – offering families in shelters a huge holiday bash filled with food, gifts, and entertainment. This is a monumental year for us, as it is our first year back after setbacks from the COVID-pandemic and the loss of our beloved founder, Jake Kennedy. The crew behind CITC was determined to keep the giving spirit of Jake alive and we are so excited to be able to operate at a large scale once again. All proceeds raised go directly to run these two programs.
Fundraisers, parties and toy drives – We have so many amazing partnerships with local businesses this year. Together, we have planned several fun events across Boston to help us raise money and collect gifts. Please consider attending an event below – they are guaranteed to be a fun time, and a great way to give back:

Toy Collections – All over Eastern Massachusetts, local businesses have opened their doors to help us collect toys for our two programs. Please check out our website for a detailed list and map of where we will collect the toys. All toys must be new and unwrapped – our wishlist is a great guide to get you started. These will be distributed both at Jake’s Toy Mania and at our annual party.
Help us spread the word – Last but certainly not least, we are trying hard to spread the word of our programs to gather more donations and to continue to grow the impact we can have on our community. We would love for the help of photographers, journalists and anyone willing to share our story to help us spread the word. Please email info@christmasinthecity.com if you can help us out.
Further, if you are interested in any other way to partner with us or donate – please contact info@christmasinthecity.com
