The best antidote to homelessness and poverty is having a job.
With this in mind, in 2016 CITC began running a job fair. As part of the job fair, those looking for work are invited to participate in a pre-job fair preparedness event, at which they will learn about how to present themselves to employers and take part in mock interviews. Then there’s the job fair itself, where those looking for work meet with companies looking for employees. At our first job fair, twenty area companies, including hospitals, hotels, food services, and utilities, met with 125 job seekers and a number of those job seekers have received job offers as a result.
