Thanksgiving in the City

Most of us have an awful lot to be thankful for, including the ability to see that our families are well-fed. We wanted to make sure that every family can put a Thanksgiving dinner on their table, so for many years we ran a food distribution program around the holiday.

THANKSGIVING IN THE CITY IS NO LONGER BEING HELD.

Sharing our bounty with our neighbors

Now on hiatus, for a number of years, Thanksgiving in the City provided holiday food assistance for families with children 16 and under who were in need.

If you’re looking for food assistance, a good resource is the Greater Boston Food Bank. They don’t provide food directly to individuals, but they partner with a number of food assistance providers throughout Eastern Massachusetts. You can find a local organization that works with the GBFB by entering your zip code here

You may also be able to find Thanksgiving assistance through the Salvation Army.

I’m from a large family, but we never went without. To make sure that those in need are taken care of, especially around the holidays, is an honor and a joy.
