We are so excited to bring back our party this year!
We’re 100% volunteer run, and volunteers are the heart and soul of Christmas in the City.
Jake’s Toy Mania, our toy giveaway, has some volunteer needs, and is looking for corporate or groups who are interested in helping out with this event. (Interested? email maureen@christmasinthecity.org)
One of the greatest things about volunteering for CITC is that you get the reward of knowing that you’ve helped put joy on a child’s face - a direct result of your hard effort.

I love this organization because of its general mission to support the less fortunate among us - and to do so with a 100% volunteer base.
Boston-area corporations support Christmas in the City through making financial donations, by buying gifts for kids attending the party, by providing volunteer teams, and by holding toy drives. Bank of America has provided us with grants, and their employees have, over the years, signed up for hundreds of names from our wishlist, buying and wrapping toys for kids coming to the party, and more recently, for children in the shelters reached by Christmas in the City Delivered. Liberty Mutual used a corporate leadership training event to build dozens of bicycles, and also wrote us a generous check. GlaxoSmithKline has also built bikes for us, and taken care of the gifts for shelters. If your organization would like to help us out with wishlist gifts, please email wishlist@christmasinthecity.org. If you’d like to run a toy drive, please contact maureen@christmasinthecity.org.
There are many reasons we volunteer for this amazing organization. The biggest one is the kids. There are no words to explain the feeling when you see the joy and excitement on their faces when the doors open. It reminds us all of the impact we can have when we open our hearts to those in need.
Throughout the year, friends of Christmas in the City hold fundraisers to support our mission. The Seaport Hotel usually runs fundraisers for us in both December and during the summer. Felger and Mazz run an auction to benefit Christmas in the City. One young supporter has organized a Teddy Bear Tea. Parts per Million has run band nights for us. Let us know if you’d like to host a fundraiser on our behalf by emailing info@christmasinthecity.org.
Never thought I could run a marathon, but CITC does so much for so many less fortunate, I wanted to join their effort helping others.
We’re always looking for organizations that can donate goods and services. Charles River Apparel has long donated a generous supply of clothing. 47 Brand has gifted us with countless ballcaps, beanies, scarves, and other team-related gear. When we held the big party, the Blue Man Group entertained. Ana’s Taqueria helped feed volunteers. BU Dental provided dental checkups at the Party.
I've been volunteering since the first holiday party, and what I love most about Christmas in the City is the ability and diversity of the thousands of volunteers that make our events so successful.
Toys can be dropped off at 34 Bromfield Street location until December 22. Final drop-off date at all other locations is December 12. We are planning to pick up from all of the drop-off sites on December 13 so we have the toys ready to distribute at Jake’s Toy Mania on December 14.
