Boston Marathon

Spreading the Holiday Spirit of Giving, All Year Round!

Keeping the holiday spirit of kindness and charity alive all year long is a marathon feat—each day brings a challenge and opportunity for acts of compassion.

On April 17, 2017, Christmas in the City runners will run the Boston Marathon to raise money for their favorite cause.

As veteran marathoners, we are venturing forth to spread that holiday cheer throughout the year, bringing a bit of Christmas to those in need.

This April 17, 2017, I plan to run in the 121st B.A.A. Boston Marathon. The foundation of my career as a Physical Therapist began in Boston working with Kennedy Brothers Physical Therapy. This wonderful organization has helped so many thousands of patients, and thousands of non-patients in the greater Boston area. Jake and Sparky Kennedy started a wonderful event called Christmas In The City that donates, through volunteers and 100% full donations, food, fun, gifts, music etc. to thousands of extremely wonderful and extremely poor children to give them at least 1 day of joy in the year they would otherwise never receive. Please help me to raise the needed goal of $7,000 to help these great kids and to boost my training for this year’s Boston Marathon. I know we can do this together! Thank you for all your help, support and motivation!

I am incredibly excited to run the 2017 rendition of the Boston Marathon: America’s greatest road race, as a member of the Christmas in the City Team!!! It has been a lifelong aspiration of mine to participate in this historic event and I could not be more fired up to represent Jake Kennedy and his charitable foundation. Not only has Jake served as a mentor, coach and occasional physical therapist-he’s also proven to be one of the most kindest and altruistic individuals I have ever encountered. It is a privilege to be associated with the Christmas In the City foundation and to represent the tireless work that Jake and his wife Sparky have dedicated to the community since the inception of their foundation in 1989. Their philanthropic dedication has affected infinite lives, created joyous memories and become a genuine Boston Holiday tradition. Please consider making a donation, any contribution is welcome, to support a timeless Christmas narrative.

On April 17th I will be running the 2017 Boston Marathon in support of Christmas in the City. I have been so fortunate to have run the Boston Marathon for the past 14 years. This year I am honored to be running in support of Christmas in the City, a 100% volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Boston’s homeless children and their families.

Each year, Christmas in the City brings holiday magic to thousands of Boston area kids and their families who have been experiencing the uncertainty of homelessness and the stress of poverty. Their annual holiday party is a spectacular event that many kids say is the best day of their lives. Christmas in the City also “plays Santa” to thousands of children living in poverty and provides assistance throughout the year as families move from homelessness to independent living.

Please help me support Christmas in the City and everything that it does to help children in Boston who are less fortunate. There are no administrative costs- 100% of your donation goes to kids and their families! Any amount that you can give would be greatly appreciated.
